About the Chef
Emily Kendall is the executive chef of Kendall’s, California’s premier private culinary service. Established in 2003 Kendall’s has been serving the Central Valley from Manteca to Sacramento and points in between such as Lodi, Stockton, and Elk Grove for the past three years.

Emily fell in love with food and cooking as a young girl. She remembers many happy moments helping her father in the kitchen. From breathtaking successes such as her father’s mile high apple pie, to disasters like an accidental substitution of salt for sugar in a chocolate cake, she learned that cooking is an adventure.

As a serious and active student Emily allowed food and cooking to simmer on the back burner until college when she discovered her love of entertaining. Food became an event, something to bring together those she loved. Her natural curiosity, a source of trouble as a young girl, now drew her to learn about the exotic foodstuffs, cultures, and traditions of people around the globe. As graduation from Cal State Long Beach loomed and Emily pondered her future, a friend suggested she explore careers in cooking. After graduating with a B.A. In political Science, Emily began her culinary career by enrolling at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.

In addition to attending classes at the CCA Emily worked with several different catering companies throughout the Bay Area. Never one to turn down an opportunity to learn she also served as Sous Chef at the Weekend at the Academy and the Sur La Table culinary programs. After graduation, Emily went on to serve her two month externship under the tutelage of Chef Todd Fisher at the Stillwater Bar and Grill in The Lodge at Pebble Beach in California. Emily continued at Stillwater until moving to Lodi to be near her family in 1998. While in Lodi Emily expanded her horizons by joining the talented staff of Wine and Roses Country Inn. Working there under Sherri Smith, Emily was able to hone her skills in event planning and off site catering. In 2000, Emily was offered a career enhancing opportunity with Festivities Catering, one of the largest catering firms in California. Two years in the fast-paced life of San Diego and Emily yearned for the quieter and simpler life she had enjoyed with her family in Lodi. So in 2002 she returned to the place she called home.

After a short break to collect herself, Emily was ready for a new challenge, her own business. In 2005, she enjoyed a burst of well-deserved media recognition. Interviewed in print by both local papers, the Lodi News Sentinel and the Stockton Record, She followed this up with cooking demonstrations on two of the local network affiliates. Both ABC channel 10 and CBS channel 13 chose Emily for noontime cooking demonstrations. This attention was well deserved as in the prior three years she had built a reputation for quality by serving creative and tasty meals in a variety of venues. After serving Corporate CEOs, popular California Media personalities and local political figures, Emily is now ready to bring her world-class talents to your kitchen.

Emily shares her passion for food and fine dining by educating others about fine cuisine, sustainable farming, organic and artisan products, as well as supporting local farmers. Her infatuation with food blends simplicity and sophistication as she serves fresh, cozy satisfying meals prepared in a classic style.

Emily currently resides on the family farm where she is now learning to care for her own poultry. She is an active member of Horizon Community Church and participates in many fund raising projects to support her fellow humans in less fortunate parts of the world.
