Mission 360

In the southern African nation of Lesotho, 30% of the population is infected with HIV/AIDS. Children are orphaned daily, mothers watch their children pass from them, and fathers see their families disintegrate under the ravages of this deadly disease. It is a stark reality, but reality none-the-less. In addition, government statistics indicate that the epidemic will grow over the next several years!

World Vision, an international relief agency, is working hard in Lesotho to bring hope and physical relief to these children and families. This July I will be participating in Mission 360, a 6-day, 360-mile bicycle ride down the coast of California to raise funds to support World Vision's work. To many, the task of alleviating the HIV/AIDS crisis seems overwhelming and even hopeless-but there is hope! World Vision offers food, medicine, home-based care volunteers, and the love of God to children, mothers, and fathers who are suffering from HIV/AIDS and /or who have lost someone to it.

Your donation, in support of these efforts, can make all the difference in the lives of children and families in need. Here are some examples: Please join me in supplying hope to those without hope by contributing to my efforts in the Mission 360 bicycle ride. Donating is easy, fast and totally secure. World Vision has the highest reputation for integrity and your gift will change the life of a child and his/her family!

PS… last year we raised over $17, 000 to assist in building a community center in the town of Masatepe, Nicaragua!

Second Annual
Primo Vino Heritage Festival

Saturday, July 29th, 2006
5:00pm – 10:00pm

Woodbridge Winery, Lodi

Building on the success of last summer’s premier event, Woodbridge Winery in Lodi will be transformed into a bigger and better Italian village, where the tradition and heritage of the Robert Mondavi family and the 2006 harvest will be brought to life. Just like last year, Primo Vino’s town square will have vendors selling artisan wares and Woodbridge Wines. You can learn to play Bocce Ball with the Stockton Athletic Club. This year you will dance the night away to live Italian music and the Grape Stomp will be expanded, so be sure to cheer for your favorite mayor or other local celebrity. In all, it is a magical summer evening you will not want to miss!

This year I will be assisting America’s Test Kitchen chefs with their hourly cooking demos. Come enjoy the fun and taste some of their amazing creations that you can create at home! All proceeds from the sale of wines by the glass will benefit the American Heart Association. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
